Jeff Akerman, R.A., graduated from New York Institute of Technology with B.Arch. Shortly after, Jeff joined an expediting office, which motivated Jeff of the empirical perspective of Architecture in NYC. RISE Architecture, formerly known as BIZdesigns, was founded in 2010 by Jeff and started at his basement in Midwood, Brooklyn.
As a licensed Architect in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Florida and with continued efforts and growth from a team of 6, the office relocated to Industry City in April 2013 and became the main Architect for the Industrial Complex. Within the following year, with a wide range of projects from single family residential buildings, multi family residential buildings to commercial, mixed-use, industrial and institutional facilities, the firm grew into several departments including the Architectural Department, Permits Department and the Interior Design Department and in 2018, the firm officially was re-branded to RISE Architecture. In 2019, Jeff corroborated in more than 1500 filings with the NYC DOB with his extensive zoning code knowledge.
He has partnered with Jack Jaffa & Associates for the permit services division, which has completed over 3,000 projects over the 5 boroughs. He has partnered with a Special Inspections Agency, SIA, to extend the variety of services provided to our Clients. RISE Architecture NJ was recently established in January, 2020 to servicing an array of Clients in New Jersey, further expanding into other states including Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Shimon Greenebaum is a well-respected licensed Architect with years of experience in various aspects of the architectural field. He is licensed in a number of states, including: New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Delaware, Washington State, Texas, and more to come. Shimon co-founded RISE Architecture NJ, LLC in 2020 with the modest intention of servicing the New York-New Jersey area outside of the five boroughs of New York City. The company has grown rapidly throughout its first year and has massively exceeded its original boundaries to now service multiple states throughout the United States.
Prior to joining Jeff Akerman in the founding of RISE Architecture NJ, Shimon served as a tremendous asset to a mid-large size Architecture firm, located in New Jersey. In his previous role, Shimon was instrumental in creating and leading a division of the firm that specialized in private schools and communal buildings, specifically geared for the Orthodox Jewish Community. Shimon also served as lead designer on many keystone projects in many other building typologies, including daycare, office, light industrial, retail, and education (k-12 and university). Shimon has experience in managing projects of all sizes, from minor rehabs and fit-outs to full ground-up construction, from master planning all the way through project occupancy.
Shimon now serves as the managing principal and co-founder of RISE Architecture NJ, LLC where he directs, innovates, inspires, and advises. Shimon leads an ever-expanding team of 12 dedicated and efficient employees specific to the New Jersey branch.
Together, and with their distinctive trademark of communication, knowledge, capability, and precision, RISE Architecture NJ, LLC manages a long list of satisfied and much valued clients.
